In the Netherlands and other delta regions, we are surrounded by water and dependent on infrastructure such as pumping stations, weirs, locks, and dikes. During construction or maintenance work, we take over the function of hydraulic structures with our temporary pump or siphon installations, so that contractors within the civil engineering sector can carry out their work properly and safely.

Renting Pumps

Van Heck supports contractors, foremen, and project teams who need temporary pumping solutions, dewatering, or water diversion during civil projects. With our flexible pumping installations, you can rent pumps that are tailored to the required capacity and on-site conditions, ensuring your schedule is maintained and your work can be carried out safely and efficiently.

Perfect Preparation

Every project begins with a thorough analysis of the water challenge. This includes mapping out the required flow rate, head, pipeline distances, and other hydraulic conditions. Based on this information, our project managers advise on the optimal capacity, planning, feasibility, and energy efficiency of the installation. The outcome is translated into a technically detailed plan, including capacity calculations, layout drawings, and installation procedures.

To pump or siphon?

Depending on the project location, elevation difference, and desired capacity, water can be moved with temporary pump installations or by means of a siphon system. Both techniques have their own application area: pumps offer maximum flexibility and capacity, while siphoning can be an energy-efficient and cost-effective solution in suitable situations.

Temporary pumping installations

Our electric and diesel-driven pump systems are designed for continuous and energy-efficient use in civil projects, with capacities ranging from 1,000 m³ to 12,000 m³ per hour per pump, both dry and wet seated. This always provides a suitable solution for temporary water management or dewatering.

Siphon systems

For negative slopes, our siphon systems offer an extremely efficient solution for temporary water diversion. With a vacuum pump of only 2,700 Watts, up to 15,000 m³ per hour per pipe can be moved. This makes it possible to divert water over longer distances or over dikes and roads: with a self-regulating system, minimal energy consumption, and maximum reliability.
