Van Heck is a privately owned Dutch company specializing in water management and displacement, especially for large volumes or high pressures. We are active in various sectors such as the dredging industry, offshore wind projects, sewer renovations, cooling water systems, and infrastructure projects. Van Heck is built on craftsmanship, collaboration, and a passion for solving complex water challenges. Customers around the world rely on our expertise in water management and temporary pumping installations.
What kind of culture does Van Heck have?
We are proud of what we accomplish together as a team here. We tackle challenges and achieve big things together. Van Heck remains privately owned even after the acquisition. No shareholders. No lengthy decision-making processes. Our input, ideas, and collaboration are important. On Thursdays, a fish snack, and on Fridays, we enjoy snacks together in the canteen.
Who are the people behind Van Heck?
We work with a team of Project Managers, Work Preparers, Engineers, Draftsmen, Electrical Engineers, Electricians, Mechanics, and Welders. Additionally, we are supported by a top team of finance and front-office staff.
What do you do as a mechanic at Van Heck?
We rent out pumps that are powered by either electricity or a diesel engine. These machines require maintenance to always function well. Additionally, the pumps need to be installed on location; setting up throughout the Netherlands and occasionally abroad is an option!
Can I do an internship at Van Heck?

In 2022, Herman van Dijk took over the company from the second generation of Van Heck. Since then, the Van Heck family is no longer involved in the company.
