Herman van Dijk takes over the Van Heck Group.

Van Heck Group has been around for 58 years, and Jeroen van Heck has been thinking about the future of his company for a year. A successor within the family did not present itself.

"I did approach some big companies in the market. The company could complement the work of a large dredging company. But is that positive for Van Heck?

Continuity is a keyword for Van Heck. Here, an entrepreneur should be at the helm, not a spreadsheet manager."

About Herman van Dijk

That true entrepreneur, Jeroen found in Herman van Dijk. Van Dijk has been active in machinery construction in England for decades, and he has also worked in the land-based oil business for many years by preserving underground pipelines with his company "Van Dijk Coating."

Due to this experience, working with large contractors "in the field" is not unfamiliar to Herman. After he sold this company, he missed leading a team. Van Heck and Van Dijk have known each other for decades, and an evening of philosophizing about various technical matters over a beer is not unfamiliar to the men. Jeroen saw Herman as an ideal technical manager for his company, but he had not yet considered a takeover. Herman was open to a learning period to get to know the company, but he quickly climbed the ranks. The rest is history; the Van Heck Group is now in the hands of Herman van Dijk.

No change

Certainly, for the coming year, Jeroen van Heck will remain involved for technical support. "That support is necessary until I can swim on my own," said Herman.

The company will remain based in Noordwolde, and the name will also stay the same. Herman: "Van Heck remains; it is a globally known brand name, you don't just take it off the facade."
