Quadruple siphon

For the renewal of the quay walls along the Scheldt and the replacement of an outflow channel, a large amount of rainwater had to be reliably diverted for an extended period. Van Heck realized a temporary water diversion for this, allowing the contractor to have a dry and safe construction pit to carry out work on the existing outflow.

4 siphon systems

The installation consisted of four siphon systems with a diameter of Ø1000 mm and approximately 400 meters of piping. This setup ensured that rainwater and surface water were continuously drained without hindering the progress of the project.

Self-regulating and energy-efficient

The applied siphon system is particularly energy-efficient and self-regulating. Thanks to this technique, the installation can drain up to 27,000 m³ of water per hour with minimal power consumption. This solution not only offers high capacity and operational reliability but also contributes to lower CO₂ emissions and lower operational costs compared to conventional pump installations.
