Temporary pumping station prevents flooding in the heart of Oldenburg.

On-site within 2 hours after the first call

After the first call, Herman van Dijk and Titus ten Kate immediately left for Oldenburg. Within two hours, they were on location to assess the situation and determine the required capacity.

During the return journey, there was continuous coordination with the team in Noordwolde. Even before the project leaders returned, the workshop was already on standby. The first pump sets were immediately prepared for transport and installation.

Extreme rainfall

Extreme rainfall, combined with a failure of Oldenburg's main pumping station, posed an acute threat of waterlogging. To protect the city center, a temporary pumping installation had to be realized in a very short time.

Result

Within 24 hours after the initial site inspection, four HK500 pumps were operating at full capacity. With a total capacity of 18,000 m³ per hour the temporary installation completely took over the function of the defective pumping station.

As a result, the center of Oldenburg remained dry despite the extreme weather conditions.

Particularities

This project demonstrates Van Heck's strength: rapid response when every minute counts. From the first inspection to a fully operational installation, everything was completed in less than one day. Thanks to close cooperation between project management, the workshop, and logistics, it was possible to scale up immediately and the city's water safety remained guaranteed.
