Hollandse Kust West Alpha: record power capacity onboard
For the landfall of the export cables from wind farm Hollandse Kust West Alpha , Van Heck was enlisted for an exceptional pump installation. During this offshore cable operation, a large amount of pumping capacity was required to reliably support the work.
2,650 kW pump power onboard
For the operation, Van Heck provided an impressive installation consisting of:
- 3 × DPPG750 Super Silent (SC300.500)
- 5 × hydraulically driven feeder pumps
- A total of 2,650 kW of pump power
The pumps were installed on a ship . This created a mobile pump installation fully tailored to the specific requirements of the cable installation.
Never before so much pump power onboard
The size of this installation was remarkable: never before had so much pump power – 2,650 kW – been installed onboard a single ship.
A technically challenging operation where available space, power, reliability, and the specific requirements of offshore cable installation all came together.
With this installation, Van Heck made a significant contribution to the landfall of the cables for Hollandse Kust West Alpha and thus to the further development of Dutch offshore wind energy.
