Civil Engineering & Water Infrastructure
Sustainable water transport. Technique that is almost elevated to art: Siphoning.

Sustainability is playing an increasingly important role.
Clients are setting higher standards regarding energy consumption, emissions and the environmental impact of temporary water diversion. That is why Van Heck continuously invests in innovative solutions that contribute to more sustainable and future-proof water management.
Diesel engines meeting the latest emission standards
Our latest generation of diesel-powered pump sets is equipped with Caterpillar Industrial Power Systems and complies with the latest emission and industry standards. This allows us to combine maximum performance with the lowest possible emissions for projects where an autonomous power supply is essential.
Making the most of gravity
In addition to our diesel fleet, we are investing heavily in the further development of our siphon systems. By utilising the natural difference in height between two water levels, large volumes of water can be moved with minimal energy consumption once the siphon has been started up.
This form of sustainable water transfer offers significant advantages:
- very low energy consumption;
- minimal CO₂ emissions;
- quiet operation;
- high operational reliability;
- ideal for long-term projects.
Our siphon systems are deployed worldwide for temporary water transfer, water diversion and other complex water management projects.
Electrically powered pumping systems
We also invest continuously in electrically powered pumping systems. These systems offer an energy-efficient solution at sites where mains power is available or where emission-free operation is required. Thanks to smart control and monitoring, the systems can also be monitored and controlled remotely.
The right technology for every water challenge
Whether the best solution involves a diesel-powered pump set, an electric pumping system or a siphon system, Van Heck always selects the technology that best suits the project’s circumstances. In this way, we combine reliability, capacity and sustainability into a future-proof solution for every challenge in the field of temporary water management.
