Temporary diversion during the construction of two culverts.
For one of our clients, we installed a temporary pumping system to divert water temporarily. Under the provincial N387, two new culverts were constructed. The canal was temporarily dammed to create a dry construction pit. To ensure the water still flowed through, we placed a VSPE1000 there.

For the installation of the two culverts, it was necessary to temporarily close the provincial road. This allowed us to lay the piping neatly across the road without limiting the contractor's work.
Fully autonomous with generator
With the supplied generator, the entire system could function fully autonomously. The pump control can be monitored online as standard, so we always have insight into the pump's performance.
Why not a siphon system?
In temporary water diversions, a siphon system sometimes seems obvious. After all, the water flows from a higher to a lower point. However, in this project, there was hardly any significant height difference, and the short deployment period also played an important role.
A siphon system requires relatively much preparation and setup. For a long-term project, it can be a very efficient and energy-saving solution. However, in this case, a temporary pump that needed to start only a few times a day was the most practical and cost-efficient choice.
The right solution for the situation
This project clearly shows that the best solution is not always the largest or most sustainable system. The conditions, deployment duration, and required capacity determine which technique is most suitable.
